I know this isn't a venomous question, but it does purtain to a dangerous snake. My friend just got back from Iquitos and sent me his pictures. There is one with a woman holding a rainbow boa and a young 5 foot anaconda. It reminds me when I was there. They just handed 4-12 ft anacondas out for anyone to hold and they were as gental as a Burmese. I guess I was just wondering how one gets such a nasty wild snake so tame. Is it just persistant handeling? Do they have to go through many to find the docile one. I would assume they are all wild caught. I did handle one straight out of the jungle that some locals brought me bagged. I saw first hand how nasty they can be even at 3.5 feet. They thought I was crazy.

i have always tamed mine thru constant handling. except on feeding day and a day later. but i also tend to go thru the clutch and pick out those who seem to have a better disposition.

Handling after feeding is bad advice. This can lead to regurgitation and most snakes, after feeding, do not want to be messed with.
