I'm sure I'm gonna get flamed mercilessly for this post, but here goes...
Disclaimer...I haven't seen any of his videos, but have read many threads here and elsewhere. Based on my readings he is both irresponsible and not real bright.
Assuming the article is cited correctly and the covenant committee is creating restrictions designed to force him (or any other resident) to either move or get rid a collection that was within the covenants when he moved in, then I would say he has a legitimate gripe (legalities are a separate issue).
I would venture to say that anyone here would be outraged if they were placed in a similar position (I am also intentionally ignoring some of the husbandry claims, e.g. I'm sure that it would be possible to never remove the animals from their aquaria, I don't know how prevalent that practice is for keepers since I have never kept reptiles).
Videos and personal feelings aside, doesn't this incident fall into the realm that many here have loudly decried recently, attempting to legislate (and I do consider covenant committe decisions a form of "legislative" decision, albeit limited in scope and enforceability) away private exotic animal ownership?
FWIW, I would have NO issue with someone taking the animals on a basis of this individual's inability and unsuitability for keeping any animal.

well what I see is this guy talkin a bunch about how he's going to fight back and now that they're really doing something he seems to realize he's not so great as he thought. If this was some responsible then yeah I'd agree with them but he's not so I won't.

ok let me rephrase this, the video of him exclaiming his plan to fight back was in a very aggressive tone. His quotes in the article are the complete opposite...... So he changes in a split second! He was so sure about fighting back about this and now look at him.....

Charlie, first of all, dont be afraid to post your ideas here. Getting flamed is really not much of a worry here, as we are all pretty laid back and enjoy hearing others ideas. It is really rare that folks will jump all over someone for a post.
You are right if the covenant folks are creating New rules against this fellow just because they found he has snakes.
However, it might be that the covenants actually prevented these types of pets in the first place, and he brought the animals in anyway against the rules. Tenants are really bad about sneaking in animals they are not supposed to have, LOL !
Without seeing the actual covanants, it is hard to know who is right or wrong.
The covanant committee could certainly create new rules that would apply to future renewals of his lease though.
And I bet there is already wording in the existing covenants that says something like "creating a danger or nusiance is prohibited, or similar" that they might try to enforce. And I can sure see how muffboy could be considered a nusiance, LOL !
The truth of the matter is that many folks dont like snakes, and consider them a danger. Just like Nick Cage last month with his pet cobras. Seems he got rid of them to keep his neighbors happy. Wether he legally had to do that or not we have no idea. But living in a place with a lot of pissed off neighbors is not easy to do. And I can sure see how muffboy could piss off a few folks, LOL !
Best Regards JohnZ

well the way I see the nick Cage thing was this, look at all the money he has. If there was a lawsuit he could lose a great majority of it. SO I really can't say I blame him even though it was stupid for his neighbors who don't have to live with the najas, to complain.

Or maybee Nick Cage is just a nice guy who does not want to anger or scare his neighbors !
Perhaps his friendship with them was more important to him than his desire to keep cobras.

Personally, I would have kept those snakes. The most they could have done is not paid the ticket price for any of his movies. Big deal. You can't sue someone over something they are doing in the privacy of his own home, even if he was doing it illegally, which I don't think he was. They had absolutely no case for a lawsuit. I think he was just being a nice guy.

Watch his new video. He is trying to raise money for legal fees. Listen to what he says about hots too. It honestly worries me that someone as idiotic as this guy has the kind of following he's got! I wish somone would post some anti muffdaddy vids on youtube. I really dislike this guy.
