Thanks guys. There is a possibility I might have missed 1 or 2 cases, so if something is missing, let me know. The number of fatalities is so low no matter what, that it will not really affect yearly/lifetime odds much no matter what. But if you kinwo of more, let me know and I will add it to the PDF file and recalculate the numbers

The link to this document will stay the same even if I make little changes to it

Is anybody here familiar with how reporting to Toxic Exposure Surveillance System (TESS) works?
They list all venomous bites, so with the native snakes it is hard to know what was captive and what was wild. With exotic bites/fatalities, it is safe to assume it was a captive situation.
However, the total number of fatalities caused by exotic snakes it lower on TESS site than what is on REXANO stats, as I used new reports too, since news is rather good at reporting pretty much all exotic related fatalities.
My only explanation/guess is TESS only reports people who died in the hospital? Some snake owners were found dead in their home, so if they didn’t die in the hospital and if they had many snakes and it was only a ‘guess’ it was Gabon viper that killed them would it go to TESS or not?
What is the procedure when somebody is found home dead, do they always do autopsy/toxicology tests to prove how the person died and which type of snake did it???
