Hey guys just thought I would get everyones opinion on the Typus article this months. It is oin the Reptiles Magizine. Writen by Terry Phillip
The only thing I did not like was they only used Green(with some black) Typus pics. There was one Juvie pic though.
I Really liked how he wrote about the fang and the movement of the fangs. And he hit a bit on the venom.
How many people here keep Typus. I have a male Typus that I have had for over a year and a half. He has turned aggressive though. He will bite without any worries.
He is fed mainly chicks, Mice and Rats. He NEVER hides. Always out and about.
I would love to hear about your Typus also!
Gary

Hey Gary. I guess I'll have to pick up an issue of the latest Reptiles. I had heard it was another all-hots issue, but didn't know there was a Dispholidus article in it. I would have to say that boomslangs are probably one of my favorite species. They're so unlike most other snakes - almost more bird-like than they are snake-like. I bred and produced them back in 2003. The adults were a breeze once they began feeding on rodents, but the babies were a nightmare. I received a few babies from Bob Herrington in '04 or '05 and they too were very stubborn. Assist feeding does work to an extent, but most of the babies succumbed to stress before they began feeding on their own.
Regardless, this is an amazing species. I was actually hoping there would be some at San Antonio this past weekend, but alas, there were none. I'd very much like to put together a colony in the coming months, but they don't seem to come in with the regularity that they did a few years ago.
Do you have any pics online of your typus?
