Greenville, SC-
Copperhead bites are on the rise (they've trippled) near Paris Mountain State Park. Watch the video, find the errors ;)

More garbage about snakes "attacking" people, and the tired old "what if it had been a child" scenario. Since when did snakes become "more aggressive" towards HUMANS during the mating season? Towards other males of their same species, yeah, but not towards people! I looked for a link to leave a comment on the video, but they didn't have one.

when will people realize that these snakes are not attacking? they are scared and its called self-defense just like any other creature, including humans, would do. The ignorance about snakes being aggressive and attacking is just ridiculous and the news coverage is not helping. Every damn news report about snakes i see includes the snake attacking. Enough already, get the facts straight. Id also like to know how that copperhead got her in the upper arm. what the hell was she doing? Very strange place to get bit. Am i missing something?

I was thinking the same thing: How DID she manage to get bitten on the inside of her upper arm? Either she had picked up the snake and was holding against her body with her arm, or she was lying on top of it. Other than those two scenarios, I can't figure out how a Copperhead could have reached her there. Even if it bit as she was reaching down for it on the ground, at the most, a really big Copperhead might have reached her elbow(and this looked like a fairly substantial woman, taller than I am). It would have taken a big Rattler to nail her upper arm like that, not too far from the armpit, if the snake was just on the ground, so THAT begs the question: Why did she reach down for it?

When they say snake attacks, it is almost like they are accusing the snakes of robbery or car jacking. I am certain the snakes look at it more like they are being car jacked or robbed. The media is hysteria loving/creating garbage. I am not sure what is worse though, the media or the ignorant "stories" passed on by word on mouth. I suppose the media due to mass communication.
