This includes bans on venomous reptiles and all "exotic" animals, including snakes, as well as breeding bans and limits on ALL animals, and bans on "wolf-hybrids", a non-existent animal given that ALL dogs and wolves are the same species, and which usually means any Northern-type dog, such as Huskies or Malamutes, especially if you don't have AKC registration to prove they're not "part wolf". There is also a ban on animal NOISES, and surgical procedures such as tail docking and ear cropping(even though lopping off animals' testicles is REQUIRED by this proposal, if it passes).

Sounds like a great opportunity for USARK to proove that they can do something positive !
You folks who live in SC should join up with USARK as soon as possible, to help fight the Spartenburg ban. If the ban passes there, it will move to other cities in SC one by one until the whole state is legislated to death.
USARK will need funds to fight this thing. Send in your membership, and give Andrew and his new outfit a chance to proove that it will be a force in the preservations of the rights of reptile and exotic animal keepers.

I just joined USARK as an individual member.
The PayPal thing on the website worked the way it was supposed to.
Even though I sometimes vend at Reptile Shows in SC, I can not afford the business membership in USARK at $250.00. However, the individual membership of $30.00 is not all that bad. I hope they will add a student membership soon for those younger members who can not afford to send them $30.00.
I would like to challenge those of you here who like attending the Carolina Reptile Shows, to go ahead and sign up with USARK. This will help them defend Your Rights in Spartenburg, and will help to keep SC one of the few States in the Nation that still allows Venomous and Large Constrictor Reptile Shows.
Skip buying that Pizza Hut or Dominos tonight, break out a can of sardines in mustard sauce on crackers, and send the pizza money to USARK !

my bf is from Spartanburg an even he is sayin WTF on this......
I agree its time for USARK to step up an see what they can do...
Stuff like this is WHY people start keeping animals illegaly because people in legistation want to try an make it impossible for people to keep animals they already have. I know a number of individuals whom have had to give up loved pets both scaled an non because of bullshit like this.

No doubt, but we all need to join and let them put our dollars to work. We also need to spread the word and post that information on all of the forums where we post. There is strength in unity. Just ask PETA.

Very Off Topic here... Bigbend, you dont agree with Obama, but how do you feel about your other choice? A VP who opposes protecting Polar Bears and Whales for the sake of oil and an advocate of arial hunting of Timber Wolves?

PETA can go suck on a propane tanka s far as i am conserned, dun even get me started on that bunch of loosers. They lost any ana ll respect from me when the uthenized pets they claimed were going to new homes an threw them in dumpsters out side a grocery store. Sorry screw that I'd rather kiss my Canebrake on the lips then have anythin to do with them.
I have been passin around USARK's info to people hopefuly more iwll join, I plan to hopefuly this coming friday, the need for some Snake Tubes kinda over rode my need for the membership fee lol.

This is a city ordinace not a county. The city of Spartanburg has always had this unfortunetly. They have brought it up to change the fees for dogs. The county of Spartanburg has no laws or ordinaces at this time regarding exotic animals. Someone needs to remind all these representives supporting these laws that when you use the word exotic it includes their fish they have at home.
