I used to use Proherp software before I had to get a new computer. I lost my copy and data and cant remember where I downloaded it from. Can anyone either point me to a link or give me another free software that is as good or better. Thanks
Curtis

Celeste,
Thanks soo much for posting the "Metzcal" link!
This may be the best free software program I've seen yet. Of course I will have to play around with it some, but it looks like it will cover more than what I need... ;)
Great find.
Take Care.

Celeste,
I honestly didnt think I would catch on to the structure of the Metzcal software so quickly, but have easily almost mastered it in under an hour.
Seriously folks, I shocked. This may be the BESt herp care program I have used PERIOD, and its free!
It has geagraphic climate locations that can be selected out of a map of the world. State by State US climates, etc. Even a fully functional "Library" feature for care sheets, Taxonomy setup, and "sets" of species specific care, feeding, and enclosure settings.
This is by far the best program at any price I have ever tried. And the thing that is perhaps the most important pertaining to this thread is that: Unlike MANY other herp care software, this program lumps ALL records and setting (including the "library" and "climate" data into A SINGLE FILE, rather than one seperate file for each like alot of other freebees.
It would be VERY easy to copy this one file to a portable storgae device, and simply update it when feedings occur, and new species or animals are added to the collection.
5/5 !!! Thanks again to LadyBloodRose for this one! Anyone else using this program? I have never heard of it before, and it has never come up in any of my searches. Amazing to me that its 100% free.
One question for Celeste however. As today being my first time using it, does the program automatically bring up notificiations or reminders of when feedings are due, or when cages are to be cleaned without actually printing the list.
I'm assuming it autopmatically notifies the user with reminders, but again, havent used it aside from today.
Thank again!
Great program!... so much so, that I barely minded transfering ALL of my data from ProHerp to this program!
Take Care.

ya know thats something i have never realy noticed John lol so I can't realy tell you for sure. Id o all my guys at the same time every friday-saterday but that would be something to check into with the prgram ^_^
Metzcal also has lil dtata packs you can download an use with the program such as a chart on nutrtion etc. If you play around with it, an read the info that comes with it you can also add alota details in about species an subspecies etc. so that if you say added anouther snake to your collection of the same species you already had the species info filled out you click it an stick it lol.
It's an awsome program :) I'm glad that you like it John an that it was able to provide what you need :)
