I need help/suggestions on how to eradicate a gnat infestation in my aquarium. I have already removed everything that can retain water, but the gnat infestation persists. Does anyone know of any products that would kill these bugs without killing my eyelash viper? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Once again, thanks to all of you responsible "hotkeepers"! Be safe! (P.S. I am NOT the bozo whose dog got killed by the trio of eyelashes!)

Probably not gnats. Most likely "fruit flies", Drosophilia melanogaster. Something in your tank is fermenting. Your water bowl might be leaking and your mulch could be soggy on the bottom. Clean it out and put in fresh aspen shavings, at least for awhile. Aspen is a VERY dry substrate.
