Taylor, Alpha makes a good point. There are many good snake boots out there, and they vary greatly in price.
How much money do you want to spend ? If your budget is limited, some of the Rocky or Red Head boots would work well.
If you have more money to spend, then the Chippewa are very nice snake boots. I now use those, as the Rocky's that I had were ill fitting boots. The Chippewa are used by many professional herpetologists.
If you have a lot of money to spend, then the Orvis / Gokey boots would be great. I can not imaging paying $400 to $600 for a pair of boots, though.
New fabrics have made the old style, heavy, bull hide leather snake boots obsolete, and have created lightweight boots. Shop for the features you like, and the prices you like, and the height that you like in boots. All have about the same protection from snakes.

I've enjoyed my Rocky Snake Boots, and have hiked steep inclines in the mountains of Sri Lanka with them, with little trouble. I've also worn them for 16 hours at a time in basic comfort. Try these:

There is a pair of snake proof boots on the cabela's website that I have been thinking about getting. They are about 275 dollars and they have a perfect review record. I agree with looking to buy a more expencive pair of boots because they are probably quality made boots, not cheaply made ones.

I like the looks of the new Rocky Snake Boots that Chris posted the link to.
Those might be a good improvement on the old style Rocky boots. I would like to see a pair up close, and try them on.

Hi!
In Europe we can buy boots, whose fron part includes a steel plate. Picture: http://www.armyuzlet.hu/images/prods/57.jpg
Is this good for herping? The steel is very strong, I can jump on it with my 94 kilograms.

Ferenc, the boots in the photo look to be well made and sturdy. Even though they are not "Snake Proof" boots, they would work well for the Old World Vipers that are found where you live.
They appear to be made of sturdy leather, and should give you more protection than light weight shoes.
It is always good to wear sturdy pants such as cotton jeans over the top of the boots when snake hunting. The thick fabric will provide a second layer of protection.
