I know this is a venomous website but I really need some advice on a new boa I got. I've had this boa for about 3 months and Ive started to noticed at about the middle of his body there are what looks like two ribs sticking out. it just looks like they stick out a little more than the other's. It dosent seem to be hurting him and he eats fine. Ive never seen anything like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with what Arin said.
A snake can easily break a rib in a fall.
It would take an X-Ray to know for sure if the ribs have been broken in the past.

Cody,
I have seen some black rat snakes around here that have such kinked tails, and crooked spines I am amazed they still manage to live, and... thrive.
John and Arin are probably right. And, if they are the two ribs directly across from each other, a possible explanation would be a very high fall that pushed both ribs out from the force. Do doubt these ribs were probably broken, and simply healed in their new position. If the snake is eating, I dont see too big of a concern. Just keep an eye on it. If the snake goes off feed, or has any complications that you think are related to this injury, he may need to see a vet.
But, as stated, I have seen some incredible spinal injuries to many colubrids, mostly black rats, which I allways assumed was someones attempt at killing the snake with some kind pole, stick, shovel, etc. Alot of the snakes I find like this are pissy as hell still, and seem to have no problems.. LOL...
Hope this helps..
Take Care.
