Man pleads guilty to selling dangerous snakes
October 27, 2008
A Windsor Mill man pleaded guilty last week to selling a dangerous animal and possession of a timber rattlesnake after police caught him trying to sell exotic snakes, Maryland Natural Resources Police said. Steve E. Clagett, 47, was charged July 30 after police received a tip from a civilian, police said. Authorities found 10 copperhead snakes, four Eastern hognosed snakes and one timber rattlesnake in his possession. Claggett was fined $1,500 plus court costs as part of his plea.
