Brad Finding Western Pygmys is some what like looking for Red Milksnakes, they are best to be found in the spring and fall of the year.In the summer road collecting is your best bet.The tall pine forests of east Texas will produce some Western Pygmys. It is one of those snakes that you have to be at the right place at the right time. Size colors and pattern vary in many areas. On one outing one young western pygmy was collected with two heads. I wish I could be more detailed in localitys, but there is just to many people, includeing institutions that will abuse it. Have A Great Day Chris
