Hey guys,
I wanted to show you all some of my home-made snake hooks. I would like to know what you guys think of them, and if you think I could sell any.

These are 30"-32" hooks, but I could make some different sizes if anyone is interested.
I'm turning 16 in about 3 months and I'm trying to work up as much money as I can..
Thanks,
Jon Short

Nicely done. You'd have to give more info on what they are made out of, specs, etc. If you are looking to sell them, my advice would be to get them in some of the hands of professionals and hard core (and name recognized) hobbyists on this site at no charge....their endorsements are what will sell your product to the average person and even zoo professionals. Midwest sells the best stuff on the market and many are very hard wired to use them but with that being said, as I look at our menagerie of hooks, tongs, scoops (MAKE THOSE), acrylic hand held shields (no one to my knowledge sells these), etc I found that I have a few home made equipment such as our scoops and a couple of hooks. If you want me to take a look at one I'd be happy to try it out. Good luck.

Jon,
Those are some nice looking snake hooks.
You also might be able to sell them on EBay.
Best Regards

I could use a new hook. If you can make one 24" I would be glad to buy one from you for a fair price. Email me if you can.

Clint, someone does make the tongs you are talking about. His name is Randal Berry, and he is a site member here.
The tongs are a bit expensive, but the quality is good.

Hope this helps.

I use Randall's tongs quite regularly for feeding - really like them for that application. They are also nice when I need to get something out of a tight corner/area of an exhibit.
