I was just doing some reading and according to Survive Outdoors INC. the two common denominators involving snakebites are tattoos and alcohol intake. I understand how alcohol intake could play a part in some bites. Allot of times when I am outdoors and NOT looking for snakes I have some sort of alcoholic beverage in my hand or close by waiting to be consumed. That’s just me though. Now for the tattoo part, where do tattoos come into play with the statistics of a snake bite? Well, I guess I shouldn't go out anymore for fear that I will get bitten.

Tim, have you been to a reptile show resently ?
The designer snakes like ball pythons, corn snakes, king snakes, and designer lizards seem to have spawned "designer" reptile keepers. And it has caught on in the venomous keeping community also, were folks without tatoos seem to be as scarce as Republicans at a Obama rally, LOL.
I won't even get into the number of venomous snake bites on folks with shaved heads and goatees, which probably could have been used in the same statistics, LOL.
Some of the more elaborate snake tattoos which look good now on the 20 year olds, will probably look like roadkill when those folks are 60 or 70, LOL.
Best Regards

Well sir, I only offer them alcohol if they are over 21 years of age(Dog years). I won't even speculate where the tattoos come from.

John, The last reptile show I went to was about seven months ago in North Carolina. I have been trying to find a good one in either Kuwait or Iraq but they seem to come to town never and not at all. The good news is I will be going to Afghanistan for a few months in mid year. I hear there is some excellent reptile shows there.:)

Tim, I do not get the chance to say this often enough, but Thanks for your Service to our Country !
And that goes out to all the other folks who visit this site who are active in the Military.
If you ever get the chance, try to attend one of the Columbia, SC Repticon Shows. We now have them in March, June, and November. They are great venomous shows, and get better and better each year under the new leadership from the Repticon folks. They are a great opportunity to meet many of the site members here.
Best Regards
John Z

Thank you John. I don't hear that much these days. I was planning on going to the show in South Carolina last October or November, I dont remember which month off hand, but ended up going on an extended vacation in October. Maybe I will catch it later this year.

Odds are if you keep venomous snakes your bald with a goatee. It only makes sense that this majority gets bitten from time to time. Im sure these bald goateed guys indulge in a cold one from time to time as well and Ill bet some of them have got a barb wire band somewhere on their body.
