You have to understand what a huge liability it is for someone to have you as a "student". I had a friend that was helping someone to get thier FL license and the guy got tagged by an eyelash viper..turned into an quite a situation..the guy who was bitten had nearly all his 1000 hours in. And the "teacher" had stocked the antivenom, but the medical bills became a court matter that is currently being resolved.
So your best bet is to post for your specific area and see if anyone offers, but dont get your hopes up.
We have on occasion helped people nearby with some tech. but very limited exposure to our animals. Mostly demos to be tried by them at a later date...not very adequate but its better than being sued. Or even criminal charges if someone bit the big one while training under you...
Sorry, but hope you find someone near you..

As I am not the sole voice of authority in my household (being married and all), I have not invited anyone to work with my collection and can understand the frustration of someone trying to get a mentor.
There used to be a website with the tenets of safe venomous keeping that was called Venom 101. That site is gone and will not return.
In its absence several other sites have attempted to fill the gap and provide basic through advanced handling procedures, techniques and advice.
One of the best available is at:

I hope this proves to be helpful.

I know that snakes stress easy. so I don't handle them that much. I think My trouble has been, liking to tail them. and that is what has got me in trouble to many times. (BAD TROUBLE) I no longer tail my snakes. (nor do I free hand any more) I am larning this the hard way. so anyone that reads this that free handles venomous, It is not the way to handle venomous snakes. And I am looking for advice on tailing part. I do good when I just hook them. but no hands on. Any advice would be taken to heart. Thank you Spanky
