Here’s a link to a small newspaper article from Nashua, New Hampshire, August 11, 1980. If anybody has any articles you can scan and post, some of us would really appreciate it!

Thanks John. I will add everything I have that was published about Randy's survival and Bill Haast's involvement with same. It really was amazing. And although Randy died prematurely, he nonetheless lived another 18 years after the Krait bite. Thanks so much for writing!

Hi pic,
Yes, Randy was tube feeding a baby Krait. One fang was stopped by his nail, while the other fang pierced the finger. Randy knew immediately that he was in serious trouble. From what I was told and recall, he announced that he had only 15 minutes to live and requested a 6-pack! Of course he was taken straight to the hospital where he rapidly declined and ended up on a vent while waiting for Haast to arrive. My parents and I were in Mexico when all of this happened and we actually missed all of the excitement. By the time we were notified of the incident, Randy was still very ill but was out of the woods and was expected to live. I never got to meet Haast :( I'm not quite sure what happened to all of Randy's snakes after he was released from the hospital. In addition to Kraits, he had a number of rattlesnakes and possibly other venomous snakes. I'm pretty sure that he gave up his venomous snake collection at that time. He had a fabulous collection of exotic birds after moving to Corpus Christi, Texas. He also had a passion for Rottweillers. He probably had a snake or two all the while, but nothing near the scale of what he had when he was bitten.

Hello Carlyn,
I was a friend of Randy's at the time of the snakebite and had lost touch with him years ago. I frequently wondered what had become of him and came across this forum by accident while telling someone his snakebite story. If you would like to contact me by email I would certainly like to know what happened to him in the boating accident.
Thanks,
Colby in West Monroe

Hi,
I'm a registered nurse who was working in the intensive care unit the night Mr. Lee was brought in with the snake bite. I was also there when the "That's Incredible" program filmed the episode. I remember the incident very well.
