I am planning a trip next weekend just thought I would see if anyone was interested.
Here are the details.
The Creek: Conocheague
Distance: 40 miles +-
Put in: Stone Bridge Rd (3013) Marion Pa
Take out: Conocheague st. Williamsport Md
Start: 11am on the 23rd
Finish: 3pm to 5pm on the 24th
Camping: Island just north of Rt. 40 in maryland.
The first day will be a long one 25 miles, we will break for lunch/snakes around 2pm, we should make camp around 6pm.
Second day 15 miles start out 10am or whenever everyone has breakfast and is up and running no hurry. Lunch break when needed, arriving at take out between 3-5pm.
This trip is mostly flat water with great scenery and decent fishing, there is one weir down in Md and 3 log jams in Pa easy portage. Nothing major on this trip.
You are welcome to bring your fishing gear, we will have time to fish in the evening and possibly through out the day depends on water level and our over all speed.
You will be responsible for you meals, gear, and safety.
I Just want to add some details about the scenery and what you could expect to see.
Along this trip you will see several old bridges one covered and a few old stone bridges. We could take a break at martins mill bridge and walk through, that is the covered bridge about 12 miles into the trip on the first day, the bridge was washed out a few years ago and has been redone to original specs.
Other sites are old farm houses and old barns, the wildlife is plentiful expect to see mink, turkey, muskrats, ground hogs, deer, and all types of water fowl. Lots of turtles along the way as well.
The landscape ranges from flat forest and fields to high canyon type rock walls covered with ferns and vegetation.
Well that is just some of the sights, if interested shoot me an email eekster26@yahoo.com or call 7177012284.
If anyone was interested in coming down friday evening you could camp in the yard or sleeping bags on the floor in the living room, there is also a Comfort Inn a mile down the road. we can arrange a spaghetti dinner for friday night and eggs, hash browns, and pancakes for breakfast saturday morning. To make this happen I will need to know how many people are planning to come by Wednesday.
Be Safe

Eric, wow, I wish I did not live half way across the country. That sounds like a fun canoe trip !
25 miles is a lot in one day on flat water, hopefully the folks going along will be experienced, LOL.
Hope you all have fun !
Best Regards
John Z

It's not all that bad the water is up so averge 3-4mph first day about 7 1/2 hour of easy paddling, a little less if we push but not likely ;)
Take it easy
