from what i have heard its pretty near impossible to get a permit in ny for hots and crocodilians. i was on a different site and was talking to said he got a venomous permit in ny when he was 16 which sounds like bs to me. he said it was about 8 years ago and i didnt think they had permits then. anyone here in ny have a permit for hots if so how hard was it to get.

They did have a permit 8 years ago, I think I got mine in 2000, but it changed within the past 4 or 5 years.
The venomous permit wasn't terribly difficult to get, but the endangered species permit, which any crocodilians fall under, was nearly impossible to acquire. I can't remember if there were any age restrictions.
If a person didn't get grandfathered in when the new venomous laws took place, they are SOL. The DEC isn't giving out any new permits.
