As an addition to Thomas' hints on getting pdf's: it should be very easy to get hold of the author's email address. Simply email the author a polite request for the pdf file of their paper, and there is every chance that you will find it in your inbox in a matter of hours or days. Scientists are not a cloistered fraternity bent on keeping the world out - on the contrary, we WANT people to read our papers (why else would we bother writing them?!?), and are likely to be pleased that someone is interested!

About a year ago, I had the chance to sit and talk with Dr.Schuett at Glendale Community College in Az where he was an adjacent faculity member. He was advising me in my career goals with herpetology. We did end up discussing the horridus/atricadautus issue. He had a lot to say regarding the people who say they are the same. Smart man, I learned alot just sitting with him for an hour.

Thomas,I realize that your educational backround excedes mine tenfold, butI have examined the available and published evidence and have decided for myself after almost 30 years of keeping C.h. horridus, and C.h.atricaudatus that it doesn't hold water in my eyes.I know that one individual can't make a definitive answer, but that doesn't mean I can't be very interested in what he has to say.I've just been around too many of both to believe they're the same animal.I'm not looking for an argument in any way,I just don't believe it's a closed subject yet.
