I really agree with John here. Too many people get caught up in memorizing useless numbers before really getting to know the beauty and mystery of the animals themselves. What is the real benefit of rattling off statistics, other than impressing the lesser educated. Learn about the real nature of these magnificent creatures. Learn their intra and inter species personalities and then you will realize why a 20 year old corn snake I have is just as interesting as a timber rattler I encounter in the woods, can be.
