I had to laugh reading this post. Not a week goes by where I don't get a proposal, a plea for money or--my favorite--a request for a president's or celebrity's autograph.
Whenever I travel I make up business cards ahead of time, usually in the hundreds, often translated in the local language, asking about local perceptions of a particular snake. Last time it was for the Gaboon Viper. In Cameroon--neighbor of Nigeria, undisputed capitol of scams 419 and otherwise--I dropped these everywhere: bars, little fish shacks, bus depots, etc. I get a TON of scams and pleas. But every few months I get an email from a hunter or an ethnologist or someone who just knows a thing or two about Gaboons from observing them on their farm. I'm not sure what my point is. Maybe it's just that we worry so much about scams and protecting our identities and privacy (and these are important concerns, no doubt). But sometimes putting our info out there can get us some really interesting feedback, particularly given new communication technologies. Just my two cents...

I am no longer jealous miss marta alif has contacted me to day and informed me of our bloosoming love sure to be the love story of the century I will send funds soon so my love can come to the us and be my bride thanks to every one here for not takeing her from me so you are all invited to the wedding .I do not know how to break this to my wife she will be mad yet true love must prevail thanks to all.

i am going to make a different email and see what these people are trying to get outta this....its getting kinda old...i got 3 emails from that jessica thing yesterday and 9 in a row from the marta person today....just kinda curious to see what they want....

The want money.
When I was on Match.com (How I met my current GF of 3 years) I would get these types of emails. Some girl found me, had bad English (Yes worse than mine, at least I can sort of fix mine here, I don't just so I don't keep posting corrections) and would give out prewritten letters.
Copy and paste part of the email you got in the Google search, I did and I found others who went through the whole story, pictures (Probably not of them) and even all the prewritten stories.
Also look up Russian Bride scams...
