I read that there are ten types of agkistrodon. Three live in the United States and seven live in Asia. The three that live in the United States are the cantil, cottonmouth, and copperhead. I really want to the ones that live in asia! And like I said in one of my other posts, I love osage copperheads!
Also, do cottonmouths live in Arizona? Because I also read that they live through out western United States. And so far, the three agkistrodons that i've seen have simaler markings.

Tristan,
Here is another page for you to look at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agkistrodon
If you go down to the section labeled "Taxonomy" you
will will find this:
"This genus was previously much larger and also included the following genera:[1]
* Calloselasma - The Malayan pit viper found in Southeast Asia.
* Deinagkistrodon - The Hundred-pace viper found mostly in southern China.
* Gloydius - Moccasins found in Asia.
* Hypnale - Hump-nosed vipers found in India and Sri Lanka."
Again, if you click on the stuff that is blue, it will take you to a page where you can learn about the snakes called Gloydius, which at one time were part of Agkistrodon.
Best Regards
Jonn Z
