What is the opinion of those in this organization? Are False Water Cobras a true venomous snake or more closely like a hognose in that some reaction to a bite may occur?

Exactly like hognoses an many other colubrids, they are true venomous snakes which inject toxic secretions with a bite.
Equally like hognoses and most other colubrids, they are very unlikely to inject enough to kill you, although some pretty unpleasant bites have ben recorded.
