Hi All, Could anyone help me with the protocol for black necked spitting cobra bites. I hope I never need it, "but" as some of you know, I have bad trouble with antivenin. So I would only get it in life your death. I would just like to know what other meds I should get. Thank you Spanky

that is not true...you would still get a/v, even if you were allergic to it...
they would give you an "epi" with it to counteract or prevent anaphalactic shock.
I thought you had that spitter in the classifieds for sale?

Hi Biff, Thank you for your nice replay. And being a gentelmen about it. Yes, I do have a black necked cobra for sale, but I have three of them now, and I hope to breed them. Therefor I need to get a good bite protocol for them. I had a snake bite doctor e-mail me some time back and tell me that the Epi-pen I carry for rattler bites, Would not play much of a roll in the cobra bites, And I would get antivenin for any bad bites, like you siad. I lost his e-mail, and that is way I am trying to get that info back. There was something else I would need, But I don't know what it was. Anyway I am doing things a lot different now, the hide box with doors is a big part of my new ways.I have found the few times I have handled the cobras, they are so much nicer to handle. You can see what they are going to do befor they do it. (you can read them much easier than pit-vipers) Well Biff, thank you agian for your reply. Good day all, spanky

That is only an opinion, and in some cases a bad one.

yes, they are much easyer to read and deal with than a pit-viper. and most people don't know but a bite from a lot of are pit-vipers are going to hurt like heck, make you swell like heck, and you could loss a finger or?? But your cances of dieing are small. the black neck or other cobras will kill you, atleast your chances are muck higher you could die, or loss a limb..
