Hi,
I have two questions..
I have a book called "A Field Guide to Oklahoma's Amphibians and Reptiles", and on the Crotalus horridus page it says that there is a sexual dimorphism in color. It says that males are yellow and females are black. This is not true, is it?
And on Wikipedia, it shows that Micrurus tener inhabits extreme Southeast Oklahoma. Is this true? I've never seen it in any Oklahoma field guides..
Thank you,
Jon Short

Jon, I think Micrurus tener is only found in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas, and down into Mexico.
As far as sexual dimorphism in timber rattlesnakes, some populations show some dimorphism in the coloration, but that does not hold true for all populations.
Best Regards
