I have a 10' Burmese that was eating a rabbit (4) days ago. Along with the rabbit he accidently got the rabbit tangled up with the lights cord. After coming back to check and to give him his 2nd rabbit I noticed \what he had done. I then cut the remaining cord that was out of his mouth. He consumed 2' of cord. Will the cord be passed thru or will he throw it up? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I have had this guy since he was out of the egg! He is now 7ys old. I did not give him a 2nd rabbit due to this... I am really worried and there are no vets around that specialize in herpetological medicine...

I don't see it being a problem unless there are toxic substances in the cord or unless some part of the cord or prongs damage the gut as it works its way through (if the cord gets impacted somehow).
If a burm can pass all the fur and teeth from its prey without problems, I don't see a length of electrical cord harming it. I suspect that it will go one of the two ways you suggested - either out the back or out the front.
Keep updating, I'm interested to know how this turns out.

A snake's digestive system is pretty straight-through. As long as it's not too wide to pass through the cloaca (which a light chord won't be) it will probably pass without a problem.

Larry,
Thank you for the response. I suppose that even with my vast years of experience (20) this certainly shows that I can never stop learning. Luckily, he did not swallow the prong part, I was quick enough to cut the cord in 2 palces.. its a 14' cord and (thank God) he only managed to swallow 2'... I am still saddened and nervous by this. Again, thank you both for answering my question.

"vast years of experience"....I'll bite my tongue. I'm surprised no one mentioned seeking immediate veterinary advice - that would be the most responsible thing to do. If you are worried about your snake, see a vet!!

That's got to be one of the rudest and crudest profiles I've read. Not to mention contradictory.
I am not impressed by the lack of "experience expressed" and certainly the implications that most others don't do things the way HE wants them to.
I went through the experience of burms swallowing foreign objects at the BEGINNING of my 40 years of experience and learned proper husbandry back then.
I applaud you in being able to designate a whole room to one snake as impractical as it sounds.
There are lot of experienced people here that are willing to share and answer questions if you are willing to learn and get rid of your shoulder chip.
