i am 14 years old and i would like to start with venomous snakes, how should i start? i have studied them for a long time, please email at nonarchy@earthlink.net

I am 15 an in my ask the pros they said not for awill after you get help frome a pro tranning
but i am not a pro i just ask the same quston a few day ago is all

I studied snakes for a long time too before I started keeping venomous. I brought home my first snake in 1963 and my parents were amazed to find that I had correctly identified it. It wasn't until 1976 that I brought home my first venomous.
To be totally honest, I think that at any age where you are still considered a minor, you are too young to be keeping venomous. That does not mean that you are too young to find a venomous enthusiast in your area to work with your training so that when you are no longer a minor and can be responsible for your own trauma emergency bills you could begin keeping venomous.
Do some minors keep venomous? Of course they do!
Are they safe about it? I am certain that some of them are.
Is it something I would recommend? Sorry, no.
Just my opinion.

I am certainly no expert, but have a lot of experience with hots...everytime someone asks me this type of question, i refer them to this site:

Even with years of experience, it made me stop and think about stuff. I recently had a guy wanting to keep a copper for a pet for his son. He read that site and called me to come get the copper. NOT trying to discourage your interest, believe me, i know how it was/is. But, you better have your act together before you KEEP hots. Just my opinion.
Also, take a look at some of the snakebite photos on this site, then imagine that being your hand or foot!
