Hmmm.
Not seeing the snake, I can't holler, "Dead Certain," but I'll say, "pretty sure, Nerodia, erythogaster flavigastor, the subspecies known as the Plain, or Yellowbellied Watersnake." Definatly not a Cotton. They have blotched bellies. They don't make great, "pet snakes," but Nerodia is my favorite, non-venomous.
