Well, I finally got the pair of snake boots that I wanted. I have been wanting the Danner Pronghorn snake proof boots for a while, but at $239.99-$250.00 they were out of my price range. The Eldorado's I have been wearing have served me quite well, being waterproof and snake proof (confirmed snake proof). They were however a bit too big (nothing a couple of good pairs of socks couldn't fix) having been bought in the bargain cave as brand new overstock and have developed a tear in the leather at the very top of the boot. well, yesterday I went to Cabela's and went to the bargain cave and to my surprise the Danner's were there for $172 and dang near my size! the tag said oil/scuff but I couldn't find anything wrong. They are very comfortable. Anybody else have a pair of these boots? There is a review on them and other boots at http://snakeproofgear.com/
Here is the link to the Danner Pronghorns: http://www.danner.com/pronghornr-gtxr-snake-boots.html
Tell me what you think.

Looks like a good boot. I haven't ever worn a "snake boot" myself, but I know many folks that do. I wear a "western" type boot all the time.
