Okay, we know that the King cobra is the longest, followed by the black mamba. The Bushmaster comes next as it can grow to lengths of 12 ft.
So the top 3 are set in stone.
What about the 4th? It seems like its a battle between the Forest cobra (Naja melanoleuca), King Brown Snake (Pseudechis australis) and Coastal taipan (Oxyuranus scutellatus) as all 3 seem to max out at about 3 meters (or 10 ft).
Which of the three is the largest?

From what I've heard, Forest Cobras tend to be the largest of the three listed. There was a report of one (dont quote me on this!) of about 11 feet not so long ago.

So then would a list go something like this:
1. King cobra (O. hannah) - up to 18 ft
2. Black mamba (D. polylepis) - up to 14.7 ft
3. Bushmaster (L. muta) - up to 12 ft
4. Coastal taipan (O. scutellatus) - up to 10.8 ft
5. Forest cobra (N. melanoleuca) - up to 10.2 ft
6. King brown (P. australis) - up to 9.5 ft

You’re asking two different questions.
Longest and largest are two different things.

Sort of like the largest and longest non venomous snakes...green anaconda (largest) and retic (longest). In the family of venomous snakes, that's really wide open to debate other than the King is certainly the longest. For "largest", it's hard to beat a big heavy bodied Lachesis, adamanteus or a gaboon but you have to look at averages as there are single specimens (like Doug's 'ol Puff Adder) that are truly spectacular. Tom Crutchfield had a basiliscus I believe that was ridiculously large too.

I would ask, why does it matter ?
What is this fascination with labeling things as longest, fastest, heaviest, etc ?
If you need talking points to spew about concerning venomous snakes, then learn something about their life history, and share that.
One of them getting a few inches longer than another is meaningless drivel !
One of them being a few ounces heavier than another is also meaningless drivel !
Knowledge about venomous snakes is not some silly contest of stating statistics based on weights and lengths !
Want to impress me with your knowledge about a particular snake ? Then tell me where he lives, what he eats, what he does for a living, what his activity periods are, what his breeding season is, what the composition of his venom is, how his venom changes over his life as he changes from a lizard eater as a juvenile to a rodent eater as an adult, etc, etc.
Knowledge about various venomous snakes is not like freaking base ball cards where you memorize a few records, so that you can use them to make you look smart in conversations with your friends who know less about reptiles than you do !
