Yes this is true and I have the picture if someone could tell me how to post it. This is not that unusual for us to see a cottonmouth this bi g in our area ( I have seen 3 myself) and believe it or not they don't have to eat catfish....It's just called living in the Deep South among millions of acres while growing large and never seeing a human being. :)

Leesa, I have a 12 Burmese that is fat as a stump and only weighs 50 Lbs at best.Common sence please.

Just really poor reporting!! I have in many, many, many years seen one 6ft cottonmouth in the wild. I did not weight it, but it was more heavy bodied than a comparable diamondback or timber rattlesnake. If I has to guess the weight of the 6 footer it was probably between 15-20 lbs.
