I have a 36" Red Diamond with 6 rattles and the button. He is non-aggressive toward humans and very active.
He eats 1 jumbo mouse a day for 2 days (2 Mice) then 4-5 days later deficates. Then 1 day later he is ready to eat again. He is putting on some weight but still a little on the thin side as he is still a juvenile.
He is eating prekilled jumbo mice and is real active. He starts searching for food as soon as he deficates.
Is he eating too much or is this fine for a juvenile?

Never kept them but I have caught them.....temperment you describe is typical of rubers...I'm more of a python guy but I would think at 3' you should be feeding small to medium rats.

Thanks for the reply. I had a hard time nursing him back to health. He was in bad shape when I found him on my back porch. He was real thin and I had a hard time getting him to eat at first. I was force feeding pinkie and fuzzie mice at first. That is a little nerve racking to say the least.
He just went through his first shed with me. He had some recent injuries on him when I found him. They are healing real nice and should be gone in a few more sheds.
The plan is to keep him on the prekilled mice for a while as he is eating good now. I will go over to rats in a month or two once he puts on a little more weight.
