From that page you can do a quick letter to officials to oppose the bill. Please do so, even if you reside in another state. I completed these many times for residents of other states. Things are moving backwards here in SC. They are making it legal to carry guns in bars, but folks will not be able to keep Boa's etc. Guns in establishments serving alcohol seems a good bit more frightening to me, and I am all for the right to carry guns.

I am sure there are lots of things that are way more dangerous the keeping large constrictors or hot snakes. It's not about keeping you safe. It's about banning everything.

It is definitely about false fear they want to create. They should start a bill to ban trampolines. Those are incredibly dangerous, but I still think folks should have the right to break their neck on them. In fact I love it when they do and think about Darwin smiling, just as I am.

My whole thing is I think anyone as long as they are over the age of 18 should be aloud to keep hot snakes if they like in any state. If your willing to take the risk of owning one and fully understand the consequences. Then go for it! It's not like anti-venom is just a couple bucks at the local walmart. I would think insurances and hospitals would be making money of people getting bit.
