I rescued a baby ringneck that had lost part of its tail. I tried giving it water because it had lost a lot of blood. My question is, is it possible to drown a snake by trying to get it to drink? I dipped my finger into a glass of water and let the water droplet drip into its mouth. I was gently holding his mouth open and the water dropped on his face as well. I'm afraid that he may have gotten water into his lungs.

Best to put it in a container with a little room temp water in it and let it soak for awhile. It will drink if it's thirsty, but even soaking will help hydrate it. Forcing it is way too stressful on the snake. Marty
