I recently caught a black-tailed rattlesnake in the wild. It has the obvious solid black tail markings but it also has many traits of the mojave rattlesnake, such as a greenish coloration and large scales between the supraoculars. Do snakes of different types cross breed in the wild?

Some known species crossbreeds are:
C. adamanteus x C. horridus
A.contortrix x A.piscivorous
C.atrox x C.scutulatus
So, it's possible that you have found a crossbreed.
