From what I was told by Glenn at the DNR, No hot snakes can be kept as pets,(and He said use the websters definintion for pets) and he would not permit anyone at all for horridus at all in the state of MD. He also stated many Counties there have regulations prohibiting hot reptiles as well. He did say I could apply for my agkistrodon and exotics to keep them in the state but it would be on the officers determination to see if they were being kept as pets,(which I interpret as most officers would assume they are pets, though i have a hot room and all animals are kept in excellent conditions). I am still up in the air now about moving to MD or just commuting from Southern Pa. If anyone has any other recommendations they would be greatly appreciated.

If I could go to Pa. and commute I would do that and not worry about my animals Pa. at the moment is open to anything you want to keep but I can see because of the shows they have and the practice of selling anything to anyone that looks like they are 18 will soon cause the laws to regulate what you can have. I have seen in person young men buy black mambas at hamburg no questions ask and that can only lead to problems.
