i have been looking for a little info on sistrurus ravus. i have yet to find any for sale. are they rare/protected? where can they be found? has much research been done on these creatures? thanks for any info.

Hello BITEMBACK,
I'm not sure how the situation of Sistrurus ravus is like in the United States - in Europe sometimes a few specimen were offered for sale in the past but I think they are still rare in captivity.
I have got a couple of that nice snakes and I can say that keeping them does not make any problems. For informations about their annual habits and life in nature you can check some publications about other mexican herps living in the same habitats too.
