		    | Hey Fabian, I wrote the tribute to Joe Slowinski for the Fall 2003 Newsletter of "Rattle", the SHHS Newsletter. I used the website you listed along with many other references I didn't have time to write down in doing it, woops. I had just returned from taking photos for a Florida State Park, was in the middle of updating my website and helping do research on Swainson's Warblers, along with putting up the finishing touches for a two week plus southwest herping field trip. Needless to say, life was hectic.
The article was hardly edited by Chris Harper in the Newsletter and he put a nice photo of Dr. Slowinski in it. I put the unedited version of the article on my website, so this is basically what was published along with a few updates on the J.B. Slowinski Award and the Elaphe genus change to Pantherophis.

		    | Very unfortunate mistake. Just goes to show that you never trust someone else Identification of a snake, especially in the field. He had a lot going for him. Tragic. |

		    | Had a total PC crash right before I started moving at the beginning of December. Lost most everything I suppose, but I haven't had time to try to recover any of it either. It sort of took the wind out of my sails, because it was really the last thing I needed to happen. I am too busy to describe.
Also, I have been remodeling the house that I moved into, and the house I moved out of. I don't foresee being able to work hard on the site at least for a couple of months.

		    | I loved joe just as much as everyone else. The only thing I can say is that why stick your hand in a bag without first identifying the snake? I guess he was just such an eager man to see what he had. |
