I was wondering if anyone knows how much permits are to have venomous species in Colorado are. Also what is the whole process of getting one.

From what I know the department of wildlife won't just give them out to anyone. You have to provide them with a valid purpose for keeping the animals AND hobby purposes doesn't cut it. A valid reason would be research or zoological display(gov't supported zoo). From my experiences they won't give you the time of day if you want a permit for educational purposes unless you are a cerified educator such as a professor or graduate student.
There is a unique loop hole that allows gilas to be kept but you need to check your local city and county laws as well, because most of the cities have very different regulations.
