Alicia,
This question is asked frequently and the answers tend to differ. The correct term is venomous versus poisonous. Let me explain; poison is a term used for something that is lethal through way of ingestion rather than injection which is venom's delivery system.
Now, in your question are you asking which snake has the most lethal venom drop for drop? If so that would most likely be the inland taipan (fierce snake) of Australia.You can look at the following web address:www.venomdoc.com/old/snakes/venomlist.html for the top ten list for most venomous snakes. Now, on the other hand if you are asking which venomous snake species is responsible for the most deaths that would most likely be a close tie between the russell's viper and the saw scale viper.
