herping around Hickory North Carolina

Has anyone had any expierence herping in the Hickory area. I may be headed that way about the first of may and was going to do some looking around. I dont care if what I find is venomous or not, just wanting to take some pictures. Any info would be apprieciated. Are there any good roads around there to check???

i live in hickory, i moved here late september so i havent gotten to do much herping. but in the past 2 days i have caught an eastern hognose, which i am very excited about, and a black racer. if im not mistaken you said you were gonna be here around may 1st? so i may be a little belated. drop me an email themartian_manhunter@yahoo.com
