I am considering purchasing a pair of N.Pacific Rattlers! They would be my first rattlers, I would like to know some more info about them, comments on how they would be as a first rattler. One of my biggest questions is I know the affects of S.Pacific venom but what about the Northern, is it similar? All info will be greatly appreciated---Thanks

They are a small Rattlesnake species, but as any animal or human for that matter, they all have different personalities. For this reason you can never say how a species will behave in captivity. They have a very similar venom to their cousin, the Southern Pacific Rattlesnake, as well as looking similar. I think being your first venomous snake, you should go with something like a Copperhead etc.. Good luck in your endeavors!

Also, the smartest and safest way, of keeping mutliple venomous snakes in captivity is in seperate enclosures. Unless you are going to breed them, and if this is your first venomous snake(s), I don't advise jumping into breeding until you get some keeping experience under your belt.( a few years atleast)!
