Man, I had to post again, how in the world did you catch a 6 foot coachwhip?~ those suckers are FAST... mustve cornered it or something is all I can figure... I dunno if I'd keep it, they are so used to a variety of diet in the wild, especially for that snakes age....in captivity, feeding it only mice and rats..... it'd be like imprisoning you, and feeding you mcdonalds burgers everyday for the rest of your life.... Not trying to discourage you, whatever floats yer boat...Hell if I came across a E. Diamondback again I'd try an capture it, laws bedamned. IF anything, if it doesnt feed for a few weeks/offerings of food, I'd try a stunned bird of appropriate size (uh, by stunned, I mean buy the lil sucker live and snap its neck.. don't let the petstore know what yer up to, they might not sell it to you!) most snakes will jump on poultry fast... especially coachwhips, they're "nest robbers"

IT WAS UNDER A PIECE OF TIN AND THE FELLOW I WAS WITH
JUMPED BACK FROM IT. I KNEW WHAT IS WAS A LEAPED ON IT
JUST KEEPING IT FROM GETTING IN THE BRUSH. IT IS EATING VERY WELL NOW. I RAIDED A BIRDS NEST THIS WEEK AND THE CAOCHWHIP HAD A FEAST. I WILL KEEP IT FOR A WHILE THEN RELEASE IT (MAYBE).
