I have a technique I have used for quite some time, for simple enclosure spot cleanings. I just wanted to share it and see if anyone else has employed the technique. Basically I feed the snake, when it has the rodent on the way down good, I use some cheap "extra arm" grippers I got at walmart to reach in and pick up the crap/soiled substrate. They are similar to tongs but have two suction cup grips on the end that come together when you squeeze the handle.
This is only for spot cleanings and only when they are in the process of eating. A snake cannot bite when it has a mouth full of rodent. Thanks everyone, let me know if anyone has ever used this technique. It has worked well for me!

Hi:
It seems like a good system but I don't like being in the cage with a hot snake, even with a full mouth. They can spit that food out faster than you can react. I have a divider I use to dived the cage to safely retrive waste. This way I have 1/4" thick plexiglass between me and the snake.
I think this is even safer than removing the snake because you are not handling the snake at all. Your just "walling" it off.
