I have a five foot scrub python which will not feed. I have warmed up his food and also even bought him live mice. Can anyone help me please?
Thanks,

I fed my Burmese python a bird when it wouldn't feed. If you have access to baby chickens, try that. How long have you had the python? Has it ever eaten for you? Let me know what happens. I don't really have a lot of experience with Scrubs. Good luck

I did something one time on the recomendation of a fellow herper. It sounds kind of strange but it worked. It's kind of gross too. Anyway, get some pinky rats or mice and open the skull exposing the brain of the pinky. Present the pinky to the snake I guess it has something to do with the smell of the brain but I got a king snake and a corn snake to feed that way.

If you can't always get baby chicks, try dipping the nose of a fresh- killed rat in .....chicken broth! It seems to work if the snake is waiting for a bird scent. Also, with the "braining" of pinkies, I just push a pin into the head of a dead pink and squeeze. Then I wipe the brains on whatever I'm offering. Also, have you tried putting the python into a container and leving it for 2-3 hours with a dead prey item? (Dead only, of course) I have tried this and found that some snakes just want to take longer than others when eating- I have a redtail boa that will not consider an item for less than 2 hours before deciding if she wants it.
good luck- hope this helps.
