Hi one and all again,
Ive already asked a few questions about the swamp but Now I want to know about Stephen C. Foster State park. My questions are.........
1.Can you herp in the park or will the park rangers go berzerk
2.How far is swamp road and 8 miles post road from the park
3.If I bring a hook into the park will it be confiscated.
4.are the roads in front of the park(If there are any)
good to cruise and is there water right outside the park boundaries
5.if Im in the Waycross/Fargo/Folkston area for 3 days, what are my chances of observing Cottonmouths,Eastern D-backs, corals, pigmys, alligators, alligator snappers
Thank you.........really.

As with all State Parks, no taking, molesting the parks, animals , plants, rocks ect. You could be fined and or have your gear confiscated.... just go with a camera and be happy you saw it "in habitat". If these rules did not exsist, there would not be any wildlife left to see in the "Wild"

I had my hook confiscated and it sucked. I actully don't like to stay at stephen c foster overnight because you have to get in the park by 8:30 and in cabins or campsite by 10. It is very slim you will see any corals, pigmys or edbs. you will se tons of alligators an mabye a cottonmouth or a canebreak. You will probaly see more non-venomous than venomous. Snappers spend most of their time under water asn will probaly not see one. You might see a softshell turtle though. Waycross is about 1 to 1 1/2 hours away from that park and the other is about 2 hours away. I say if you caught anyhting make sure it is not on their land or if you are don't take it just take pictures. They didn't care when i remove the cottonmouth off the road. In June i saw 13 snakes in all. Most were racers and a few were DORS but it defintly the best trip I have ever had!!
