The easiest way to tell when you are ready is when you know excatly how and what to feed them, There husbandry, what temp.,the things you would need to know about any wild animal. Also learn about there bites and what to do.(I would say a gabby has a hideous bite)also they have the longest fangs of any snake.

Oh how scientific. You can learn all of the latin names and all of that, but the real test is how you react in the bush.....You know more that us in the U.S.,what do you mean, you have your nose in a book and try to learn stuff that most people already know (Probably an American publiced book) .......or do you go to differnent countries and catch all of the animals there. By the way, have you only been to Europe, if so, how the hell do you know more than anybody??? just wondering.
