hi all. im new to these forums and have a couple Q's.
i currently have my 1yr CB dusky female in a naturalistic terrarium. she's healthy, eats and sheds well, and seems to enjoy the space she has been given. however i dont like the substrate mix that i originally put in the tank. it dries out too fast and drains too well. which means im constantly misting it and fear that the bottom glass could break due to the heater and glass coming into contact with cool water.
so its time to take the girl out of her tank. until now i've never removed her, just spot cleaned fecal matter and shed. recently she's become more aggressive, and she's lightning quick. so i figure my best option is to tube the snake. my first Q is: can i use a piece of clear plastic tubing (the type of thin walled stuff that is commonly used for protecting fluorescent lamps) or will it be too thin? could the snake turn and create enough force to puncture the tube? i dont have glass tubes available in my area. next Q: how do i coax the animal into the tube? i come from a dart frog background and with them its easy, you just nudge it into the tube, but thats not an option with the dusky, which as i said is quick to strike at anything in her way.
thats pretty much it, any help would be greatly appreciated

I don't have much experience with the type of tubing and thickness, but here's a good link that demonstrates it: http://www.snakegetters.com/demo/tube/index.html
I would refrain from using a glass tube due to the danger of breaking/shattering. Another good way to transfer is using a trap box.
Cheers
