I have had snakes of all kinds my whole life, but never bred anything.. I purchased a male and female copperhead at an expo, and I was maybe wanting to try and breed them. What kind of conditions do I need to have for them to mate?? Thanks for everyone's time.

Ah! my sci-en-tific spec-iality (err... my impression of the little dwarf scientist from neverending story)
First, brumate them. Make sure all the food is out of their system before putting them down for the winter. You can let them get down to around 40F with no problems. Make sure they have access to water.
Next, you want to put them together for a while in the spring and a while in the fall, but don't keep them together all year. Put them together for a few days, separate them for a day or two, then put them back together for a few days. (Familiarity breeds contempt... lol)
Feed them well, but not too much and nature should take its course.
Oh, almost forgot... Put them together as a storm is moving into your area in the late summer or early fall. Open all the windows and the barometric pressure will be just right. (I got that trick from John Hollister and it worked like a charm)
Hope this helps, email me some pics of your critters. I love coppers and have a batch on the way myself. I walked in on mine "copper-ulating" a few days ago

PS - there's quite a few nice copperhead pics and some autecological info in my book.

Mine did not need any incouragement at all. They did just fine on their own. Seasonal changes in light and teperature would be a good idea.
