Thanksgiving has come again and I thought I would take this opportunity to give some appropriate thanks in here.
I am thankful that 5 and 1/2 years ago I found this site (as it existed back then) and that my daughter bought my first membership for my birthday.
I am thankful for the fellowships and friendships I have formed through the SHHS. Chris Harper, Chad Minter, Larry Lemon, and Thomas Eimermacher have all welcomed me and treated me as an equal.
I am thankful to have met some well-known people within the herp community that I probably never would have met without my SHHS affiliation. Some of them include Bryan Grieg Fry, Mark O'Shea, Manny Rubio, Dean Ripa, John Jensen, Dick Bartlett, Steve Bennett and Dana Savorelli.
I have herped in the field with some wonderful folks that are just too many to list here. I can honestly say that I don't remember ever herping with someone from the SHHS that I wouldn't willingly herp with again.
I am thankful that the SHHS has given me the opportunity to use my voice within the venomous community. I am able to get my message to hundreds, if not thousands of herpers across the world. Anyone who has ever met me at a show, in the field or even just emailed with me has heard my message in one way or another.
Be safe! Educate the public! And BE SAFE. Become involved and share our love of these wonderful animals with the public and...
BE SAFE.
I wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Even if this is not a native holliday for me I wanna thank the founders of this site. They gave me a chanse to get easy answers and help from herpers with way more experience than me. I wanna thank everyone on this site for educating people and especialy new hot keepers on the importance of reptiles as part of the echo-sistem and on safe keeping and handeling tehniques. We are a comunity, a newly formed culture, and I think we need to stick togerher for all of our interests, and do our job well, demonstrate to the rest of society that in proper hands hot herps aren`t dangerous for any one and that is our choise to risk our lives for the animals we love and that this doesn`t necesarily mean that we are willing to put other people`s lives at risk too.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone with u.s. origins, and happy herping next years season for everyone. Best regards ro all, Alex S.
